For many people, the interview is where it all begins to unravel. An inability to tell the right story, compounded by a lack of solid preparation and confidence, can send the most experienced campaigner into free fall. The good news is that we can take control of the interview process, deliver an amazing process and walk away feeling happy with our performance, if the following things are implemented.
Preparation – I have done my homework, I know what I want to say and I know how to say it.
Practice – I have been over the process to the point where nothing that happens in the interview process is going to have a destabilising impact.
Process – I follow the right process during the interview and walk away feeling that my key messages were covered.
Remember …. Effective communication is when what is said is meant, and what is meant is said, when what is said is heard and what is heard is understood.
Did you say what you wanted to say, with the energy that you wanted to bring and do you think it was heard and understood?
